“I told my parents when I went to the US that I am a dancer, like from Magic Mike,” . “I’m thinking of telling them, but why? When I’m home, I can just be me, and the whole world is behind me.

“I’ve only told my older brother. He lives a pretty regular life. He still lives in our hometown. He’s jealous of all my travel and all the sex I have [even though he's straight]."

Differences between people in the US and Germany?

"We Germans tend to view everything negatively," . "But we are more honest! Here in America, people are more likely to look for something good about you and compliment you on your nose, for example, than tell you how shitty you look after a night of drinking"

Berlin, under his real name Florian Klein, created the musical about the gay porn biz.

"[...] it was in the fall of 2012, a few months after I got into the adult industry," . "I’d just shot one of my first scenes with Jessy Ares, a singing porn star, and we were joking about a musical porn scene with singing and sex. When I went home that night the idea took shape in my head – why not write a porn musical? At first I wasn’t sure about the tone of the show and called it Porn – The Musical. But once I outlined the story it became clear I wanted to create a sincere and honest, yet magical, portrayal of the gay porn world and not a camp-and-corny porn musical. "

What did people expect from the musical?

"People were expecting porn scene after porn scene, with a throbbing musical underscore without any plot … nor clothes," . "While I was talking about a gay couple finding their way through the thicket of porn shoots, twitter demands and drug abuse. It was a headache. But thankfully, five minutes into our [performance], people were caught up in the story of Taylor looking for love and fame."
